Julie D. Ramsay teaches fifth graders in Alabama. Her school is a Title 1 school. She must use a scripted curriculum and pacing guides as required by her district. Her classroom has 9 students with behavior plans, 6 special education students, 2 non-readers, 2 ELL students. I guess if she can pull this off we can, too. More tags for her work would include: student driven, authentic/constructivist learning, self-assessment, blogging, and amazing.
You can listen to this webinar http://live.classroom20.com
or just check out her student's work links are provided below. The web 2.0 tools that were new to me were:
Story Jumper (create books on-line), Wallwisher (a collaborative stickie note organizer/classifying site).
She puts into practice nearly everything we have learned about in this class.
Kid Blog is a great place for students to reflect and teachers can read posts and comments before they are published. A great lesson on teaching students how to blog can be found at Notes From McTeach.
